FAQs

How can I prepare for my appointment?

Every client will fill out a simple intake form to help me learn about any pertinent past and current medical history (labs, diagnoses etc). It is also helpful to have a record of you/your child’s typical food intake. Come ready to learn!

What can I expect at/after the appointment?

During the session, I will take a diet history, assess current eating habits, and devise an individualized strategy for each patient and family. You will have access to my recipe library, but individualized meal plans will not be provided. My philosophy with meal plans is similar to the age-old quote “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime”. With the foundational knowledge you will gain during our sessions, formulating meal plans and making healthy choices will come naturally.

Do you take insurance?

I do not take insurance, however, many insurance plans now include nutrition benefits. Each client will receive a “superbill”, which can be submitted to your insurance carrier for reimbursement. Often times, carries will provide a percentage (or all) of the fee. If you do not have benefits, you might be able use flexible spending accounts to pay for nutrition services.
